News and Notes
Thank You!!!
Thank you to Kristi Baleno, David Curl, Lisa DiMaria, & Christina Jaromin for attending the Raleigh Jaycees Manor at Possum Creek Haunted House last Saturday, organized by Charles Krupinski (who was also on News 14 Carolina talking about the Best Haunted House in the Triangle!). More than 500 people attended the house that night!
Thank you to Kristi Baleno, Allison Cleland, & Christina Jaromin who all went down to take the Boys at the Lake Waccamaw Boys Home their "Stuff" from the Stuff Drive. You've never seen happier boys! And a big thank you to Kevin Hales of the Cary Jaycees for allowing the use of his truck and driving so that all of the stuff could get to the boys!
Remember, Election Day is Tuesday, November 7th! Back in the Early 1920s, the US Jaycees were responsible for the 1st Get Out The Vote (GOTV) effort. Why not continue the tradition and take a friend, family member, neighbor, or co-worker with you to the polls!
Let's Get Ready to Fundraise!
From Now until November 16, 2006, our goal is to raise $725 for the NC Children's Promise, a statewide innitiative & a year-round campaign to promote the North Carolina Children's Promise. It's mission is to secure financial and community resources to provide comprehensive, family-centered healthcare for the Children of North Carolina and surrounding areas, regardless of their ability to pay. YOUR committment today will help ensure North Carolina Children's Hospital's continuance to provide outstanding healthcare for generations to come. Check out the Chapel Hill/Carrboro Jaycees fundraising page at https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/StartUp.aspx?SID=1185985. And remember, your gift is TAX DEDUCTIBLE! Contact Kristi Baleno at CommunityDevelopmentVP@chapelhilljaycees with any questions you might have about the drive.
2006 Chapel Hill Carrboro Holiday Parade Committee
Interested in helping out the 2007 Holiday Parade Committee? Please contact Mark Patterson at mpatters97@gmail.com. They are looking for people to help before the parade and the day of the parade. We will help with entering information into a database, organizing all of the entries that we have, and on the day of the parade, be the man & woman power making sure the parade goes off without a hitch. The Committee has been working very hard since early this year and is now in need of getting the rest of the chapter involved. Any time you can give is appreciated!
