Events

Red, White, & Blue Family Picnic - Regional Family Day
Date & Time: Sunday, July 9, 1-5pm

The Raleigh Jaycees will be hosting a Red, White, & Blue Picnic on Sunday, July 9 from 1-5pm at Pullen Park's Shelter #6 in Raleigh. This year's picnic consists of a first-class hamburger/hot dog cookout with all the fixin's, as well as numerous games and prize giveaways for kids and adults alike. It will be an opportunity for new members and guests to meet others in the region in a fun, casual atmosphere. General Membership Meeting - Guest Performers, the JayChords
Date & Time: Monday, July 10, 7pm

Please join us on Monday, July 10 at 7pm for our General Membership Meeting. We will have our meeting first and then the JayChords, an A Capella group of Jaycees, will perform a mini-concert for us. The JayChords are a group of Jaycees based in Raleigh who enjoy singing. This is surely not to be missed, as our own Kim Winson is also a member. It should prove to be a good time for all! Movie Night - Cars

Date & Time: Wednesday, July 12, 7pm

Don'tcha hate it when you want to go see a childrens movie, but you have no child to take? Well let's solve that by all going together! We'll be going to the Lumina Movie Theatre in Southern Village on Wednesday, July 12 to see Disney & Pixar's new movie, Cars. The movie starts at 7:10, so it's probably best to get there a little early to get a ticket and a seat! Tickets are $7.75 for adults or $6 with a college ID...for those of you who saved yours! Happy Hour - Carolina Brewery
Date & Time: Friday, July 14, 9pm

Happy Hour is a great opportunity for members to get together, and also for prospective members to come and find out what the Jaycees are all about in a fun, relaxed environment! We will be meeting at Carolina Brewery at 9pm on Friday, July 14th. Please contact Amy Neese at amy_childs49@hotmail.com for more information.

Pamper Yourself ID College

Date & Time: Saturday, July 15, 9:45am-3pm

The Apex Jaycees will be hosting "Boys will be boys, Girls will be girls" ID College on Saturday, July 15 from 9:45am-3pm at Bethel Baptist Church 1111 W. Chatham St. Cary, NC. Several workshops to choose from: Teamwork traits, Scrapbooking, Relaxation techniques, Modern nail care, Debate: electronics: Brand name or generic, and Home DIY projects. Meet at the church. Carpools can be arranged. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a pillow for relaxation workshop. E-mail Tim Miller at IndividualDevelopmentVP@chapelhilljaycees.org if you would like to attend.

Holiday Parade Committee Meeting - Postponed

As some of you know, we are going to be joining with the Chapel Hill News to help produce the Chapel Hill Carrboro Holiday parade this coming December. Due to a few scheduling conflicts, the meeting has been postponed. If you are interested in assisting with this huge project, please e-mail Amber Neill at amber9904@nc.rr.com for more information.
