This Week in Jaycees

Events

Durham Bulls Game FUNdraiser
Date & Time: Sunday, May 7, 3:30-7pm

It's time for one of our biggest fundraisers of the summer - selling beer at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.  We are still in need of 2 more volunteers for the game this afternoon.  It is a lot of fun, and you get to keep tips!  All profits from this game will benefit the NC Jaycees Burn Center right here at UNC Hospitals.  If you are able to help us out, please e-mail Christina Jaromin at president@chapelhilljaycees.org

General Membership Meeting
Date & Time: Monday, May 8, 7pm

Our next General Membership Meeting will be on Monday, May 8th at 7pm at the Chamber of Commerce on S. Estes Drive.  Considering joining the Jaycees?  Why not come out and see what we're all about (and it's more than the Hokey Pokey!).  Please e-mail Melissa Feder at membershipvp@chapelhilljaycees.org for more information.

Happy Hour at West End Wine Bar
Date & Time: Friday, May 12, 9-11pm

Come on out for a night of fun with your Jaycees friends at the West End Wine Bar. Guests are always welcome.  Meet us at the Wine Bar on the roof (stairs to the roof are inside).  E-mail Amy Neese at amy_childs49@hotmail.com for more information.

Hickory Alive

The Hickory Jaycees are gearing up for their summer long concert series - Hickory Alive. They have asked for our help on Friday, May 12th from 7-10pm. We will be selling beer and helping out in whatver capacity they need. The band on May 12th will be Blue Monday, an 80's retro band. The Hickory Jaycees are a fun bunch of people to hang out with and are planning a trip to Chapel Hill in the near future. For more information about Hickory Alive visit http://www.hickoryjc.org/HickoryAlive/We will meet at Mardi Gras Bowling at 3pm and head up to Hickory from there. We have a FREE place to stay thanks to the Chairman of the project, and will be returning on Saturday morning in order to participate in the Postal Workers Food Drive. Please e-mail Christina Jaromin at president@chapelhilljaycees.org for more information or if you are interested in going to Hickory too!

IFC - Postal Carrier Food Drive

Kim Winson's Graduation/Birthday Party
Date & Time: Saturday, May 13, 5-10pm

You're all invited to Kim's birthday/graduation party on Saturday, May 13th at Amber Neill's House. Her graduation is Sunday, May 14th and her 30th birthday is May 17th. The festivities start at 5p on the 13th. There will be grilling, balloons, cake, and whatever else we can think of! Please email Kim Winson at kim.winson@gmail.com if you can make it--just so we know how much food to cook :)  This will be a laid-back shindig; bring a side-dish, an appetizer, or soda/juice. We'll probably be cooking up hamburgers and hotdogs on the charcoal grill.  FREE, please bring a munchie or a drink. No hard drinks, please, as her mother will be present.

NC Jaycees Awards Convention in Raleigh
Date & Time: Friday-Sunday, May 19-21

Many people have asked what it is like to go to a convention.  Now is the perfect time to find out first hand!  If you are interested in attending convention, please e-mail Todd Dawson at statedirector@chapelhilljaycees.org.  If you are interested in only attending certain parts of the weekend, they have individual pricing for each event.  Also, since the convention is at the Brownstone Hotel on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh, you won't even need to get a hotel room!

Guests are welcome to all of our events and meetings.
