Events

UNC-TV Festival 2006
Date: Sunday, March 12, 10:30am - 3:30pm

It's time for Festival 2006 at UNC-TV.  (Yes, we know it's today, but if you're looking for something to do, we'll be there.  And if you're watching TV, we'll wave at you!)  We'll be answering telephones and taking donations.  Remember, they always feed us a pretty decent meal too, so if for nothing else, don't forget the free food!  If you're interested in attending, e-mail Peter DeStaebler at CommunityDevelopmentvp@chapelhilljaycees.org.  We will meet at 10am at Mardi Gras Bowling if you would like to carpool.  If not, we'll see you at 10:30am at UNC-TV.  Directions to UNC-TV can be found on their website at  http://www.unctv.org/aboutus/directions.html.  We will be enjoying adult beverages after we're done.

General Membership Meeting - What is ACHIEVE Training?
Date: Monday, March 13th, 7pm
Our Community Development Vice President, Tim Miller, attended ACHIEVE Training in Goldsboro and will be telling us all about it.  Come out to hear the new vision of the Jaycees and how we can use it in Chapel Hill.  We will also be collecting items for the "Easter Cheer to Last All Year" drive (see below).  Our meetings start at 7pm and are held at the Chamber of Commerce on Estes Drive in Chapel Hill.  Please e-mail Christina Jaromin at president@chapelhilljaycees.org with any questions.

Easter Cheer to Last All Year
Date: Monday March 13th & 27th, at the General Membership Meetings

The Gulf Coast has been hit very hard and everyone deserves a little something to uplift their spirits. They felt as though they have been overlooked and many are still living amidst the destruction and ruin. The Monroe Mississippi Jaycees have asked us to help them out with this project.  Please bring a new or gently used stuffed animal (Teddy Bears, Easter Chicks, Easter Bunnies, etc.) to the meeting and we will ship what you have donated to the Gulf Coast. If you would prefer, you can make a monetary donation.  Your stuffed animal & monetary donations will be MATCHED by the Chapel Hill Jaycees treasury, so be sure to give this your all.  It has been rumored that the Dollar Store in New Hope Commons has regulations sized stuffed animals for $1!  E-mail Christina Jaromin at president@chapelhilljaycees.org with any questions.

Business After Hours at Spice Street
Date: Wednesday, March 15th, 5:30-7pm

Something to Write About?

Is there something that you think the Chapter is doing that is unique that the rest of the North Carolina Jaycees would benefit from knowing about?  What about a past project that you think we did so well, we need to brag about it?  If you are interested in writing an article (350 words or less) for the upcoming NC Jaycee Monthly, please contact Christina Jaromin at President@chapelhilljaycees.org or Todd Dawson at StateDirector@chapelhilljaycees.org.  Deadline for articles is next Sunday, 3/19/06.
