Events
ACHIEVE Training
Date: Saturday, February 25 from 9am-8pm
ACHIEVE Training is a training which will help you in your job as well as being a better Jaycee. ACHIEVE blends theory and practice to teach the mechanics of managing a Junior Chamber chapter. ACHIEVE examines the non-profit world, the definition of success, branding, target markets, recruitment and retention, and a host of other day-to-day operational aspects on which we need to focus to have a strong chapter. ACHIEVE helps members understand the dynamics between different target markets and the existing membership base. Learn to strategically develop chapter programming that is relevant to members needs. The cost is $35, but will be only $15 for Chapel Hill members. Not sure if this is something you're interested in? Sharon Worthington and Christina Jaromin have been through the whole training program and Melissa Feder and Tim Miller have done an abbreviated version of the course and would be happy to share their experiences with you. If you would like more information about ACHIEVE, contact Tim Miller at individualdevelopmentvp@chapelhilljaycees.org. The deadline to sign up for ACHIEVE training is tomorrow, Monday, February 20th, so e-mail Tim Today!
Cuisine Night - China Chef
Date: Tuesday, February 21st at 7pm
Looking to try a different restaurant? It's that time of the month when we go to a local restaurant and check out the food! This month, Cuisine Night will be at China Chef in Eastgate Shopping Center, 1800 East Franklin St. If you are interested in attending, please e-mail Joe Beal at mblank@joimail.com so he'll have an accurate head-count.
Meals on Wheels
Date: Wednesday, February 22nd
Want to make a difference in the lives of those home-bound? Why not bake (or buy) a dessert for Meals on Wheels? They need 36 individually wrapped desserts to go into the meals that are purchased from the hospital. If you are interested e-mail Nicole Davidson at nicolediane@perniciouskitty.com or Peter DeStaebler at communitydevelopmentvp@chapelhilljaycees.org.
Cooking Dinner at Ronald McDonald House
Date: Thursday, February 23rd at 5:30pm
It's time again for us to don our chef's hats and cook a delicious dinner for the families at Ronald McDonald House (http://www.chapelhillrmh.net/). This time around we'll be making spaghetti, and leave the grilling for warmer months. If you're interested in helping out, please e-mail Kristi Baleno at kbaleno@unch.unc.edu. We'd love to see you there! We will be headed out after to enjoy some adult beverages!
Guests are welcome to all of our events and meetings.
