It's time to vote! See
the slate below as well as some remarks by the nominees in the "News

meeting. This year, you can send in your vote via email, if you can't
make it to the meeting. Deadline for email votes is Sunday night
(TONIGHT) by 8pm; send them to President Amber Neill. We welcome and encourage all members to cast their vote, either in person or via email.
We'll

News and Notes
A few words from the nominees...
Christina Jaromin, Presidential Candidate
"I
have been a member since November 2003 and on the board as Treasurer
for the past year. During this time I have thoroughly enjoyed helping
the chapter. In the past, I have chaired various projects ranging from
Random Sushi Night to Tubing to Habitat to Ronald McDonald House. I
have always been there to lend a helping hand when one is needed. At
the Jaycee Convention last weekend, I was honored to be named one of
the top 6 Outstanding NC Jaycees in the State. I think this speaks to my commitment to this chapter.
I
would really enjoy being President next year. I feel that we can do a
lot in the community, including helping the Chapel Hill-Carrboro
Children's Museum, which starting next year will have a space on
Franklin Street, and continuing to work with Habitat for Humanity and
Ronald McDonald House. I also hope that we can continue to help the NC Jaycees Priority Projects like the NC Jaycee Burn Center, the Duke Cancer Center, and the Lake Waccamaw Boys Home.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at burrchillies@yahoo.com. "
Rob Thompson, Presidential Candidate
"
Hey fellow Jaycees! I've been active in this current version of the
Chapel Hill/Carrboro chapter since just a few months after its
founding. I served as Management Vice President in 2003, Individual
Development Vice President in 2004, and I have maintained the chapter
website for the past year. I was even a half-term president of an
earlier incarnation of the Chapel Hill/Carrboro Jaycees back in 1998
before moving to Greensboro. After taking this year off from Board
responsibilities, I feel that I'm refreshed and energized about working
hard in 2006. This year's Board members have put a lot of effort into
creating a solid foundation upon which we can grow. I intend to focus
intently on membership recruitment, activation, and retention next
year. I hope to see lots of new members as well as re-connect with
older members who haven't been involved. I believe I have the
experience, enthusiasm, and leadership skills to make 2006 a banner
year for the Chapel Hill Jaycees."
Tim Miller, Individual Development VP Candidate
" Having been with the Jaycees
since re-chartering in 2002, I have seen the organization grow. I
remember the fun Individual Development events we did. I want to
continue to the tradition set before, yet expand in new ways. ID is one
of the main reasons we joined the chapter. ID isn't all about fun
either. It is also about growing professionally. Many professional ID
opportunities exist and I would like to make them available to you.
Finally, like all Board members, I am always open to any and all
suggestions and I thank you for your support."
