Random Sushi Night
It's time again to eat sushi, and what better day to do it then International Talk Like a Pirate Day. On Monday, September 19th, at 7pm we'll be eating at Akai Hana in Carrboro. Birthday Party!

We're having a party! Be in the Chamber of Commerce�s Conference Room on September 20^th @ 7pm. Invite all of your friends, co-workers, family, random people on the street, etc. Please RSVP to birthday2005@chapelhilljaycees.org by September 16^th. See you then!

Fall Convention
Dates: Fri-Sun, 9/23-25
Times: Varies, see the tentative agenda

The fall installment of the NC Jaycees State Convention will be returning this fall. It will be held at the downtown Marriot hotel in Winston-Salem, Sept. 23-25 . The theme is the "Jaycees Oscars," dressing for the "red carpet" is encouraged but not required :) It's a fun way to meet Jaycees from other chapters; elections for State President and the VPs will also be held. Click here for the tentative agenda, click here for the registration form. Cost is now $70 for registration. Hotel room is an additional $92/night, roommate arrangements can and will be made. There will be a carpool. Call Brody Underhill, the State Director, for more information. His cell is 619-5413.

Articles Due for State Newsletter
Want to tell the NC Jaycees about an upcoming event? Got a touching thank-you note from one of our charities? Want to share some great advice or guidance you got through the Jaycees? We welcome articles written by members for each monthly newsletter. Articles should be no longer than ~300 words, digital photos are welcome. Please have the article edited and ready for publication in the state newsletter. For examples and inspiration, check out the state website: http://www.ncjaycees.org/newsletter.htm. Please email all articles to Kim Winson, so that she can email them in one group to the state editor. The deadline is Sept. 19th, by midnight.

Wanna See Your Name in Print?
The Chapel Hill Jaycees and the Chapel Hill News are starting a new readers' column titled, "What Are You Reading?" The column welcomes short articles from members. Contact Kim Winson for more information.

Nominations for 2006 Board of Directors
Its that time again! Nominate your peers for the 2006 Board of Directors. Nominations will be taken until October 10th. Contact President Amber Neill to make a nomination. The Board of Directors consist of the following elected positions. The name of the person currently holding the position follows the title. Please feel free to contact that person if you have any questions about the position. Note: If the position is not filled, contact Amber with questions.
