Events

Meeting Reminder
Date: Monday, 6/27
Time: 7p-8p

Check out what we're doing in the next few weeks. Tim Miller and Kim Winson (myself) will start the meeting by giving an insider's view on traditional Asian cooking. There will be taste testing...tempting....yum.

Durham Bulls Games - Summer FUNdraiser
There are only 4 more dates left for our summer fundraiser at the Durham Bulls games!  We will be running a beer cart on Thurs. 6/30, and Thurs. 8/11. We need 5-6 people for both of these dates. We are also working at First Base Hits concession stand on Fri. 7/15 and Sun. 8/28.  We need 12-14 people for each of these dates.  Volunteers get to keep an equal portion of whatever tips we make (that means $$$ in your pocket!), get a coupon for a free meal , and even have an opportunity to watch parts of the game! Last game, we collected about $95 in tips and we made around $300 for our Chapter! Our website calendar contains information on times for these games. Call or email Melissa Feder with any questions or to sign up!

Networking
Date: Friday, 7/1
Time: 7:30a-9:30a

Light refreshments, networking, and fun. 'Nuff said. This month's host is the Courtyard by Marriott, 100 Marriott Way, Chapel Hill, NC 27517 . Don't forget your business cards!

Guests are welcome to all of our events and meetings.

News and Notes

Jaycee "Slang"
Do you sometimes get a little lost in the Jaycee jargon? Not sure what it means when the meeting agenda has "individual development" on it? You're not alone. The Documents section of the website has definitions of the more commonly used Jaycee "slang" to clear the confusion. Click here to pull it up.

Mark your Calendars
On Saturday, July 30th, we'll be Tubing on the Dan River. Click here to see the calendar. More information will be forthcoming, but put the date on your calendar!

Thanks for Your Help!
A BIG THANK YOU goes out to everyone who volunteered at the Membership Cook-Out at the Southern Village Apartments. In absolutely no particular order, we'd like to thank:

Melissa & Stephen Brumback
Tim Miller
Joe Beal
Kim Winson
Brody Underhill
Kendra Fuller
Amber Neill
Peter DeStaebler
Todd Dawson
Christina Jaromin
Sara from the Cary Jaycees

Thanks so much for your cooking skills and everything you all did for the cook-out! Chapel Hill rocks :)

Seeds of Change
That's right, you remember the Seeds of Change. We did it earlier in the year for the NC Jaycees Boy's Home. This time around, we'll be doing it for the Duke Cancer Center. It will be a much abridged version, as it will run from June 13-August 8, and the Chapel Hill Jaycees treasury will be matching whatever it is we manage to raise. Please bring your pocket change to the next meeting and drop it in the flower pot. Please contact Christina Jaromin or Brody Underhill (619-5413) with questions.

July Board Meeting...
The July Board meeting is canceled due to schedule conflicts. The next Board meeting will be in August. We apologize for any inconvenience.

New Pics
There are new pictures on the website: the Postal Workers'-Interfaith Council Food Drive and photos from the last General Membership Meeting, when Tom Lamont was our guest speaker. Mr. Lamont is with the Lake Waccamaw Boys' Home, one of the priority charities of the NC Jaycees.
