Individual Development
Happy
Hour Coordinator
Responsible for choosing the permanent 2005 monthly
day and time (ie. first Friday of each month) for the Happy
Hours and picking a location for each, one month ahead of
time. Also responsible for announcing the location to the
general membership and updating the online calendar with
this information.
Book
Club Coordinator
Responsible for determining which book will be read, announcing
it to the general membership at meetings, actively seeking
participants, and coordinating informal meetings on a bi-monthly
basis to discuss the book.
Cuisine
Night Coordinator
Responsible for choosing the permanent 2005 monthly day and
time (ie. second Wednesday of each month) for the Cuisine
Night and picking a location for each, one month ahead of
time. Also responsible for announcing the location to the
general membership and updating the online calendar with this
information.
Community Development
Ronald
McDonald House Coordinator
Responsible for coordinating events with the contact person
at RMH. This involves finding out what volunteer opportunities
are available for us at the RMH (such as cooking dinners,
decorating for the holidays, etc.), scheduling the dates/times,
announcing the projects to the general membership at meetings,
updating the online calendar with the information, recruiting
volunteers, and overseeing the project on the day of the event.
Habitat
For Humanity Coordinator
Responsible for coordinating projects with the contact person
at Habitat. This involves finding out what volunteer opportunities
are available for us, scheduling dates/times, announcing the
projects to the general membership at meetings, updating the
online calendar with the information, recruiting volunteers,
and coordinating meals/driving arrangements for the day for
each project.
Meals
on Wheels Coordinator
Responisble for advertising the need at meetings and adding
dates to the calendar. Send email reminders to those who have
signed up. Pick
up desserts at meeting and deliver them to Binkley Baptist
Church by 9am the next morning.
Plant
the Planter
Responsible for coordinating with the Friends of Downtown
Flower Box Project coordinator. Buy or get flowers donated. Recruit
folks to help plant and maintain the flower box and update
the online calendar with this information.
Charity
Tuesday Coordinator
Responsible for scheduling Charity Tuesdays at Top of the Hill on a regular basis
(at least 6 times for the year). This involves choosing a date for the event
and a charity to support, completing and faxing a request form to the contact
person at TOTH, creating flyers to advertize the event, informing the general
membership of the dates/times/charities, and updating the online calendar with
this information.
UNC
Coordinator
Responsible for monitoring UNC TV's biannual fundraising telethon and scheduling
a time for a Chapel Hill Jaycees group to work the phones.
Waccamaw
Boys Home Birthday Cards
Coordinator
Responsible for coordinating with the state Jaycees to supply birthday cards
to each boy at the Waccamaw Boys Home. Purchases/makes cards, provides
all members with the opportunity to sign the cards, and mails the cards.
Membership
M-Night
Coordinator

Responsible for assisting the Membership VP with coordination
of Membership Nights throughout the year. Membership Nights
are social events that are held to provide folks in the community
with opportunities to meet us and learn more about the Jaycees
in a relaxed setting. Coordination of M-Nights involves selecting
and reserving a location, creating flyers to advertize the
event, informing the general membership of the dates/times/locations,
updating the online calendar with this information, ordering
food, obtaining name tags, and helping with set-up on the
day of each event.
Management
PR
Committee Chair
Responsible for overseeing the committee in charge of coordinating
press releases for Jacyees community events (such as Apple
Chill, Charity Tuesdays, etc.) as well as submitting articles
to the local newspapers on a regular basis (ie. every 6-8
weeks) to inform the community about what we do and encourage
people to come to our meetings and check us out! This position
will serve as the primary contact person for the Jaycees with
the local papers and be responsible for editing and submission
of the articles.
Webmaster -
Responsible for maintaining the website with updated
photos, events and miscellaneous content. Reports to
the Management VP.
